£60 wasn't a whole tank then I don't think?

My FRS used to do 260-280 miles to a tank or 330 on a motorway run.

friday I filled my focus, 2000 1.8, it took £57 and that was with quarter tank showing.

I've over the weekend been to the lake district, 5 adults and luggage, near 200 miles (motorway and A roads) and i reckon there will be half a tank left

I would start by having it checked for fault codes and a emission check see how its running, also when was it last serviced?

Mine did 108 miles on £20, the light had just came on when i put the £20 in 1.30p a litre, and the light had been on for about 5 miles before i re fuelled which works out at around 32mpg? that was some town and some a road and motorway driving, max speed 70 - 80 at 3500 revs, thats a 2 litre ESP tho.. just give it a good service new fuel filter, plugs, disconnect battery for a few hours to reset the ECU check tyre pressures, whats the mileage on it? As they get more miles on they seem to use more fuel my dads 1800 petrol zetec mondeo does 21 mpg max, and it wont do any more than that, its had everything checked and changed but its on 294,000 miles so put it down to worn out..

you need to get you focus checked out mate, thats pretty bad even around town.
I'm mostly stop start town type traffic and i get 200 miles out of £40 quite easily with a 2litre focus.

Sounds as if the lambda is faulty some models had two and others only one, these are upstream and downstream, but i would have thought the injection light would be on. You can buy basic fault readers of ebay for about 20quid well worth it. As am an ex Ford & Peugeot Mech the dealer charges about 60-70 for a diagnostic check. My focus 1.8 does 440miles to a tank and thats me being rather hard on it....
