Default gaz vs avo coilovers

hi chaps

whats the best to have?

basicly i've had avo coilovers on my frst for the last 12 years, the time has come that they need replacing again and i've been offered a good deal on a new set but i've also been offered a set of standerd gaz coilovers(not the golds) that are only 3 months old

a few peeps ive spoken too said that the build quality on the avo's is much higher but i would be intrested to hear a few other peeps opions

i've had gaz gha kit on my xr2, less than 6k miles and need rebuild already, taken two years though, so may be a little corrosion related.
i dunno, will get them rebuilt and see how they go.
avo are brilliant for reliability though.
for cost gaz are spot on really.

GAZ seem to get varied reviews. The non gold ones will be a downgrade imo.

AVO are pretty good, They lasted you 12 years !!!!

Slightly off topic but does anybody know if you can still get LEDA or MEF coilovers for a mk2 fiesta ???

you can't get LEDA new, but you can get GAZ to rebuild them if you find second hand ones as LEDA no longer trade as from a couple of years back.

Dave Lyons who used to own half of leda and do the design work has worked for gaz in the last 18 months doing all the design work and testing , they have changed all the pistond seals ect a better finish with the powder coating and better spring rates , so ineffect when you buy gaz your buying a leda design
