Default Can you MOT a car with no reverse?

As above?

I have a Mk2 golf gti with a knackered box.
I'd like to MOT and tax it but I cba to replace the box.
Can I mot it without reverse. I know of an MOT station that has a drive through set up so I wouldn.t need to reverse out of the garage.

And something in my head said reliant robins dont have reverse so maybe I can get away with it

You should be able to as the gears are not part of the MOT test.

robins do, your best having a quick word with the tester, explain reverse isn't working and that your replacement box has been lost by the couriers

technically, if the tester can't drive it on and off the ramp then it's a fail. It would also need to go on and off the brake tester.

Shouldnt need reverse gear, take to your 'drive thru' mot tester to be sure.

cant see why they wouldnt fail it, coz its unsafe to drive. Kit cars need reverse as well now.

Unsafe to drive? How do you figure that. I've drove it to work for 6 weeks and I've never felt unsafe in it
