As i made my way to the bog the other night to have a cracking shite i realised i had nothing to read so i raided my cupboard on the way and selected a magazine from in the random stack...
Had to chuckle when i came to this ...

He obviously got the cam cover paintjob thrown in with some moody ganj, which is what was being smoked shortly before claiming 385bhp on greens running 20psi. Aint dat right Mikeyal ma brudda. *sucks teeth*

Cheers,
Grant
I believe the feature was done at Alconbury as I worked up there around that time, I think it was a few years later Martin took the Mondeo up there and showed everyone how its done

Shame they stopped doing it, suppose it could still happen as long as you don't mind dodging 20 foot containers !

It's odd, my old home built moonstone RWD saff was rollling roaded at 369.8bhp (the .8 matters!
) , it was slightly low comp, 7.7:1, valve cut outs, a ported & polished head with twin BD14's , greens with a T34.48, live mapped, good cooler & exhaust, and it went like an absolute bastard compared to any other cossie that was running greys etc. The only thing I ever got duffed up by was a white Escos running 500+ Bhp with an Indian guy driving it, that was a FAST car!
Seriously, I don't know what was different about that car to anything else, might be the cams? But it just used to pull 5th gear so hard until the 7.7k limiter. I ended up stuffing it into a hedge at 30Mph
(don't ask), probably a good thing really as going through rear diffs as consumables & a set of rear boots every month was getting kinda expensive, and I drove everywhere sideways like a fucking lunatic, not a day went by without a 150+Mph run!
...Still think that car was the best road cossie I ever owned, it just destroyed everything including bikes, 1000's excepted!
Just goes to show that even today a sorted rear drive cossie is still a mentally fast road car, not many things around that weigh in at circa 1200Kgs with 350+Bhp a chip change away?
