Default Storing a cosworth over winter

Hi I'm storing my car this year in my concert garage with a breathable cover, I've not done this before but has anyone got any tips? I here condensation can be a problem? I've got a battery conditioner so no problems there, anybody?

When.i put mine away i just park it in the garage nad take the battery lead off.I then go to the car every few weeks to go and start it up.

Some people put there cars on axle stands to stop the tyres from getting damaged.

- Give it a proper clean, inside, outside, arches, underneath etc to get as much shite off it as possible.
- Stick it in the garage
- Put it on axel stands, take wheels off and leave other wheels underneath it in case the stands fail.
- Leave the sunroof/window open slightly.
- Keep a battery conditioner hooked up.

Cheers,
Grant

+1, along with the handbrake off advise, else you will end up seizing the pads to the discs, disconnecting the battery earth lead is another good idea, starting the car up every so often can actually do more harm than good in some cases.

Don't leave a full tank of fuel in it or it'll go off and drive like crap, then end up posting on here about why your Cossie's sick after being left for 6 months. Leave a dribble, or enough to run it a bit.

My winter Cosworth procedure goes like this: leave tow rope and jump leads in boot, check coolant, oil and fuel. Drive. Simples.

Personally though if I were to have the luxury of a garage, I wouldn't disconnect the battery lead - they're easier to nick when the alarm's not squealing for attention. And it's an arse re-programming the radio stations.

That's true enough, but on the other side of the coin you have the alarm etc draining the battery, all depends on the sort of security/circumstances you have I guess.

I reckon that for the minute amount of current they drain, it's not worth removing it. After all, if the alarm's disabled, chances are that your insurance is too. If the battery's in good nick anyway, it shouldn't really matter. While it's rare that mine's idle for a long period it started after 4 months of being idle (see "sick"), but was alarmed the whole time, first turn of the key, even with a relatively naff battery.

Leaving it on a trickle charge is surely a better way if you are gonna put them into hibernation?
