Default boot mounted intercooler

im wanting to mount an intercooler in the boot of my ka as im runing an rs turbo engine up front and space is tight with a rad in there. what are peoples views on this its only a thought at the moment . i was gonna mount it face down cut the floor out and run to fans sucking out through back of car. or other optoon is to runa adouble capacity renault 5 intercooler where the battery is and relocate the battery

if it was me i would mount the radd in the back, keep the intercooler up front.

rad means there would be loads of plumbing to do and if it get pierced then your in trouble. id Put the cooler in there

cheers guys it was only an idea i have just got a renault 5 cooler so it will fit up front have to vent bonnet to cool it not a problem

there will be plumbing to do for radd or cooler in boot.
at stock car's near me people just use firehose to put the radd's in back, seems to work ok. or have seen copper used to....

or you could mount the cooler in a cutout in the bumper, if your not going for sleeper look that is haha.

wouldnt cooler in back mean loads of lag ?

suppose the engine will be ok if you get a slight hole in the i/c pipework, not the same for the rad pipes.

Charge cooler and mount the charge cooler rad in the boot. Or down by sump with fans. Any where out the way.

ive got a chargecooler on mine, sits where the battery used to be and the rad for it is central right behind hte numberplate.

if you were to do this instead of putting fans on there, which might not do the job as the faster you go the air will pass over the blades of the fans,put a scoop on the underside to force the air over the cooler, it doesnt have to huge but would be more benificial the bigger it is.
You could put some mesh over, not too fine , as to protect it from stones and the likes.

Theres a big thread on this site about boot mounted rads and i think the conclusion was its virtually impossibe to get any kind of decent airflow to them without major modifications if at all
