From what I gather I can replace the waterpump on my mondeo zetec donor engine with an escort one with the appropriate pulley and then it will run the other way and allow me a much tidier belt routing?


Most scrappies round here seem to only have newer cars, anyone got a decent scrappy or got a pulley kicking around?

just swapping the pulley will not make it run the right way. due to space the escort zetec pump rotates in the opposite direction from the mondeo one.

have you not tried a motor factors like APD etc?

as the last time i bought an escort water pump it was Ł28 so hardly breaking the bank!

 

I think you've missed what Im saying mate, I know I need the change the pump too, and will buy one new, but I need a pulley to fit to it as the mondeo one is smooth and runs off the back of the belt.

yes you will need the ribbed pulley in that case.
