S2 RS Turbo headlights...
Good evening girls and boys.
I've heard that Cibie made headlights for the S2 aswell as Carello. Does anyone know if this is true?
If so, are they still available new, and are they any better/brighter than the Carellos?
Many thanks.

They were all made to meet the same spec. mate ...
resoucing to Carello, Hella, Cibie, etc is just down to contract costs, supply quantities, and the like.

Nice one folks, cheers for the heads up.
Quite surprised to hear that the Cibies are poor performers considering their reputation for spotlights. But then, that would probably be down to the bean counters at ford giving them a cost to meet and not allowing them to spend a penny on R&D.
I copped a stone in the N.S. headlight; off the back tyre of some Jap repmobile on the M20 on the way to the Kent group RSOC meeting last week. Smashed it to bloody pieces.
And anyone who thinks that S2s have poor lighting (I do) should give them a go with no lense. It's like having a small candle mounted on the front of the car
I thought maybe i'd invest in a new pair of Cibies if anyone had experienced better performance from them (obviously not), so now I can just get meself a nice new Carello and get back to having only marginally crap headlights
It's a shame realy because they're great on full beam. Don't see why they have to be so piss poor on dip.
Does anyone know if genuine Morettes are better than O.E. Ford lights?
I'm not keen on the look, but if it means I get headlights that work and some more air to my engine bay (I would remove the centre full beam units) as a bonus, then i'd be willing to make the sacrifice.
Thanks again everyone.

Nice one Rich.
I'm inclined to agree mate.
I'm just trying to think out of the box on this one mate, as i'm so fed up with my lights, especially at ludicrous speed on unlit motorway with a thousand and one lorry drivers etc. blinding the sh*t out of me.
Cheers mate.
