Default MK1 RS Gearbox/Clutch ??? Weird Problems

Hello, first post so be easy on me

I have just acquired my new mk1 RS, 55k on clock, running 320 bhp.

On the test drive it was resisting going into any gear once driving, it was possible but you had to force it, and it crunched.. i put this down to needing a new clutch, got a discount happy days...

HOWEVER.. i then get it home, drive it low revs and its ok, i then decided to 'drive with spirit' and all of a sudden the car was selecting gears perfect and clutch was operating great!!!

THEN.. it started crunching but only when you release the clutch once you change gear so as it stands,

- It selects all gears perfect
- The bite feels good, no slipping
- It crunches SOMETIMES when releasing the clutch in gear
- It shudders in 1st setting off
- It sometimes making a metallic spinning noise followed by a small crunch SOMETIMES in 1st setting off
- Alot of the time it behaves normal

So.. im wondering is this possibly a clutch slave / master cylinder problem, do you think its worth trying replacing them to or just do the lot, as doing the slave will require the gearbox out - obviously im going to get the master one done first, but just wondering your view, as this doesnt seem like an open and shut case to me at the moment...

Also... wheres the best price for these parts, inc a clutch kit...

Kindest regards,

Ant

i had a problem with my clutch, wouldnt go into gears after having a sprited drive, but the next day it would work ok

turned out to be a bent clutch cover spring, had the lot done though while it was out, new clutch was about Ł300 and the labour including all the new cylinder was around Ł400 ish
