Default After selling my rs turbo cab ive bought a rs2000 4x4!!!

Hello all after regrettably selling my 1990 rs turbo cab a couple of months ago ive been searching for my next car... i was looking for st170 focus' for a while then i come across the rs 2000 4x4's and after reading up on them a lot, i decided to start searching for one..... the i found 'THE ONE' a mint radiant red last of the 1995's with 86000 miles and only done 105 miles since 2007!!!

its totally standard and even has the original ford tape deck!!!!

so was just wondering what you all think of it and what your opinion of them in general is!!

hahaha best stay away from 'obliterated' for a while, people get overexcited!!!!

As for the cab the bloke i sold it to, had it on the rollers and it come up with 243bhp and 271 lb torque at 24psi, gutted when he told me that...but its just not a car i could use everyday

looking forward to seeing how the 4x4 treats me over winter

Will look great that mate, just try and mint it up a bit, numberplates, correctional detail, the grey/silver dash surround would look nice also, think they were in the si/gti escorts.
They sounded really nice on the track at national day.

I think some companies make repro ones, I noticed that dmb graphics had some actual badges for sale on national day, might be worth giving them a call.

none of the repro wing badges are right ,far better off looking for someone breaking one and getting theirs, and the silver dash surrounds are what folk have simply painted as no RS2K or the lessor gti/si came with them

Nice looking RS.

The MK5 stereo and din converter lets the look of the dash down a bit, get the original type in and it'll look much fresher.

You might be right on the badge, but you will have problems sticking a second hand one on.
Your wrong about the dash surround though, my dad bought a 1.8 si brand new and it had a silvery grey surround, as did the gti's, that was about 1998. Also a gearknob with a silver insert.

thought you meant actual silver dash surround ,there was 2 shades one was jet black and the other grey to match dash itself and 99% of rs2ks dont have the hole for headlight adjustment (as above ) like the gti etc ,dead easy to restick the badges on as I did it to my 4x4 as the previous owner debadged it putting them in the glovebox

They're dark grey with a silver fleck as standard on the revised Autumn 1996 MK6 (ie when 1.8 105ps models were uprated to 115ps, RS2000 was dropped, GTi introduced etc etc etc)

I found a car on ebay with the dash surround I mean't. Ignore the actual car as its looking a bit chavved up, luckily the dash is original.

Can get those dash surrounds without the headlight adjust switch. I think you can get a blank for the switch too actually, I had one floating around at some point!
