Default Individual throttle bodies on a yb turbo ????

Hi lads I'm after a bit of advice I am in the process of finishing a yb engine build and I want to run individual throttle bodies

Does anybody run them on here and with what results ???

Spec is 10 studded 200 block
Drysump and modded oil feed
Bore squirters
STD STD crank
Cosworth race pistons 7.8 1 comp
All balanced
Neil roper top spec head and 1mm oversize inlet valves
Custom spec cams and solid lifters
Tubeular manifold twin scrol and turbosmart external gate
To4z with a .82 twin scrol ex housing
8 siemeize injector 45mm individual bodies
Pectel t6 ecu with all functions unlocked and a spotter loom

What sort of spec does anyone else run with multi throttles ????

Thanks for any help James !!

Talking Inlets

Well my inlet is slightly different to yours as I use a wrc style siemeize inlet with the trumpets machined off and my bodies mounted to that with a mk inlet cover on that
I'm running 8 55lb seimens

What does everyone do about anti lag and idle control ? Iv got a bleed offs on each inlet in aeroquipe -6 to a remote housing with a idle control valve is that similar ???

That's not strictly true, jems yb engine is more powerful from memory.

Not sure if mark tried a tibuc inlet on rods but that's possibly the most expensive inlet I can think of, it's a serious amount of money though for what could be a very minimal gain, if there are any gains from using one ( or any tb setup for that matter ) over the hart inlet.

They have no reason to bullshit about it, his engines like Marks speak for themselves, its in some crazy drag car but in terms of costs I think it was a bit of a money no object build and probably runs on rocket fuel 2 different engines though, its built to run for 7 or so seconds, rods is a daily driver but then its not being given death everytime its used so who knows how long it would last IF it was, seems to be doing the business for now which is what counts.

I can't remember what inlet the Jems engine used, thinking about it I actually think that was on a single throttle body as it was some super trick item.

I'm not trying to compete with anyone and I may well regret building an engine of this spec just for track days and a bit of fast road stuff

Rods engine is a superb piece of kit but I think I would kill myself with that sort of power lol

I can't wait to get the 3dr done now it feels like it's nearly there ???? Lol what clutches do people run ? And how heavy are your flywheels ????

Correct, they are restrictive after 600bhp, more torque isn't always correct, the biggest thing with them is the throttle response,

You have to remember these were specifically designed for a 320bhp rally engine for ultimate throttle response, so even when bored out dnt flow huge amounts of air

As far as power I would like anywhere between 550-600 ish hp but more concerned about torque and response

What do you think I will see ??

For that power your turbo is way too big and larger valves is not the right way to go, your just going to loose throttle response using those two parts.

Mountune set up is good for that power, giving excellent response being barrel throttles.

The mis would be good for midrange torque as its designed to be a rally x inlet and being on a restrictor torque is what they want, I don't think that plenum would be restrictive until way past the power levels your wanting.

The new tibuc inlet would be nice for what you want, giving excellent throttle response and midrange, but I think the plenum size is a little small for outright power, but as above, at the power levels your looking for you won't have an issue. Other than the cost, and the fitment to the car

Power wise wi that spec, dependant on cams and headwork you should be seeing high 6s or low 7s

I don't think roper does a big enough exhaust port for this power though, you'd also have to be careful with cam choice being on a larger valve as valve size effete is massively!

My advice would be to go back to standard valve size and use a smaller turbo

single throttle would have to be the Hart inlet.
