Default Disabled tax

I got my mk2 granada last year and the previous owner had it on disabled tax. well when i got the car they romved there tax and apparently sorned it. well i never got a sorn in but assumed it went to there house. Well all was fine got my docs in etc. Now im wanting to put it back on the road so i thought id check the sorn was still ongoing as ive had it for around a year and no reminder. Got the doc out and its still registered diabled and i cant sorn it.Am i going to have a fine to pay? when i go to retax it and i take it ill need ot go to the local dvla office to change the tax over.

you will need to goto the dvla office to remove the disability class.

With regards to sorn, it gets reset when the ownership changes, so the new owner will always be responsible for declaring sorn - you may get away with it but then you may not.

I'd just phone them up and say you havent received a recent notification of sorn and you have had the vehicle for almost a year and have never had anything from dvla for sorn. i did that after a few months gap it all worked out fine

call them and explain the situation that you sent it off last year sometime when you first bought the car, never heard anything from them and are now wondering when it runs out

tony - you cant do it at the post office as the car is registered as disabled - you need to goto the dvla office - at least that what i got told when i just bought my 3dr in 2002 as that was disabled
