1995 N-Reg MK6 Ford Escort RS2000 16v
150ps DOHC I4 Chain-Driven Engine
2WD

73,000 Miles
MOT'd Until Late Feb 2012
Tax just expired so currently on SORN

Just been given a full respray in original Radiant Red and underbody restoration before being cavity waxed and the underside painted in protective black stonechip coating and many solid parts painted with black Hammerite.

No rust on the bodywork and no rust underneath.

Long list of new parts:

-Complete new sills both sides
-New Rear Drums
-New Rear Shoes
-New Rear Cylinders
-New Rear Brake Fitting Kits
-New Wheels Bearings All Round
-New Brake Hoses All Round
-Reconditioned Driveshafts and CV Joints
-New Front Calipers
-New Front Discs
-New Front Pads
-New Wishbones
-New Tailgate Gas Struts
-Complete New Exhaust
-New Spark Plugs
-New Air Filter
-New Oil Filter
-New Fuel Filter
-All New Fluids

The car runs and drives superbly and looks fantastic. The interior is virtually unmarked, and the Recaro seats look like they've barely been sat on.

The car is totally standard apart from the de-locked doors, which were done by Jennings Ford in around 1999/2000 as a security measure, and naturally this means the car has a remote controlled alarm and immobiliser fitted. That aside, it is as per the specification it left the factory, complete with original Ford Stereo.

Also comes with Passion Restoration Products registration plates, tax disc holder and dealer sticker to precisely replicate that of the supplying dealer Evans Halshaw Halifax.

I also have the contact details of each of the 4 previous owners, one of which is trying to dig out some old photos from when he owned the car (1998-2002) and used it only as a weekend/show car.

RSOC Registered Car.

If there's anything else you'd like to know about the car, please don't hesitate to ask.

Price is £2000 no offers. It has to be the best one in this price bracket I would imagine. It's cheap to buy, run, practical with a big boot, seats four in comfort, five if you like, reasonably pokey and handles well. Got to be a sensible way into RS ownership or an ideal daily car if you have a high-powered turbocharged RS in the garage!

It's a got to be a good buy for someone, it's had WAY more money than the asking price thrown at it in the past few months alone!

I took a few more snap shots showing different bits and pieces today.

Photos were taken indoors, so maybe not the best quality off my phone, but it was raining and the car never goes outdoors in the rain.

Firstly, a couple of the boot floor, which is immaculate.

A few more of the interior. I don't think the rear bench has ever been sat on. It certainly doesn't look like it. The passenger's seat is showing no sign of any wear whatsoever. The driver's outer bolster has very light wear on it. IE/ It's slightly softer to the touch than the others which are like new. Visibly there's very light wear. The photos make it look like more than there is, probably due to the flash/reflection.

More to follow, uploader is playing up.....

Door shuts etc are all good

None of the usual Escort rear wheel arch issues. Also inner arches etc all nicely painted black and well protected

Complete new standard exhaust, no fancy tailpipe or backbox, nice and original-looking

And the engine bay. Would benefit from a freshly powdercoated rocker cover and a general clean up (if the car is still here in a few week time, I'll start giving it a thorough clean myself), but it's pretty tidy as it is and all there.

The rest of the car speaks for itself really

Cheers

Mike

Yes, rear discs and two-wheel ABS until September 1995 on 2wd models, rear drums and four-wheel ABS after that. This is a November 1995 car, so has rear drums and four-wheel ABS, hence the ABS unit in the top left hand corner of the engine bay with four pipes running from it!

4x4 models kept rear discs and two-wheel ABS throughout its lifespan.

Run the reg through Microcat and it'll tell you exactly what spec the car left the factory with.

That's what I meant to say! Typo, was meant to say 2-wheel ABS!

Drum models have 4-wheel ABS.
