i am rebuilding my engine and i was wondering what is the best oil for the first start
after a rebuild use the silkolene pro s 10w50 or the real running in oil?

 

i got oil just there now for my new engine, its just a standard mineral oil 15/40, i ll do a few hundred miles with no boost on that then change to something better

 

Mineral oil, I used castol gtx on the last motor for 500 then dropped then 500 then better oil

 

Ran mine on halfrauds 15w40 mineral oil. Cheap as chips. Changed mine at 250 miles then at 500miles. Changed to semi synthetic at 1000 miles and still running on the stuff now (Shell Helix HX7). It gets a fair bit of grief regularly and it doesnt smoke etc. Changed the oil last week (i have ran a MSD magnetic sump bolt) and there was bairly any metal particles on the plug.

 

Mineral oil 10W40 ive used on my engine the first 1000km and after 30000km with Silkolene ProS 10W50 the bores are like new

 

First 15W-40 (~1 000km) and then Mobil 1 5W-50 (also great for daily use).

 

thanks gonna use normal 10 or 15 w40 mineral for the first 1000
and then change to sylkolene

 

Put a magnetic sump plug in also
