Default Best TDI??

Been driving a BMW 328i for the last year. Need to get something more economical as moving to a more expensive flat and need to save the pennies.

Not sure what to got for, needs to be something with decent performance out of the box or can be chipped to a decent level, as ill get bored of it otherwise.

Been thinking of a Golf TDI 130 or 150. Which is best out of the two for of the shelf chipping, dont want to go mad chainging turbos or intercoolers etc.

Any other cars worth a look?

I believe a 130 is a 150 with lesser map, so both can be chipped to the same power, a 130 will be cheaper to buy to.

Don't forget a3 and fabia have the same engines to, as do most of the vag range...

Im sure i read somewhere the boost kicks in later on the 150 so would suggest bigger turbo?

Bobby singh is selling his Mk4 Golf TDI which is about 300bhp now - bargain for what he wants and the amount of work gone into it. Imagine the torque in that

The 150's have a bigger turbo over the 130's , which makes them slightly laggyer... ive had a couple of mapped 130's audi a4 & bora , an they go well... If you want more ive also had the ibiza cupra tdi these are standard at 160hp , mine was mapped an made just over 200 but being lighter than a golf/audi makes a noticable diffrence....

Only problem is there newer than the mk4 golf equivalent etc so are more expensive depends on your budget really ...

Or the bmw 330d's are awesome , reasontly got rid of a 53 plate auto, although i wouldnt say they were great on fuel, but im sure a manual one would do better mine was only averaging around 35mpg... Rapid though an mine was standard , i hear they really whistle along after a map

Quick snap of my old one cupra ,
