As said, there are four screws holding the cover on and you will need to remove two screws to actually remove it to start with, they can be a bit awkward to get in/out.

The chip may well be the same but the software is obviously completely different, old BIOS chips aren't dissimilar either.

It will be obvious once you see the ECU as the chip will only fit in it's correct location.

thanks again pal. is there any easy way of getting the multiplug off the ecu. seems to have a bit of a lug stopping it just pulling out. am guessing this just bends back?

Push the silver tab on the multiplug to the right IIRC and remove that end of the plug first. The other end hooks in first when refitting.

Does your Amal valve work, stage 1 is circa 15PSI? Gives around 280HP but importantly more torque.

its all wired up so am guessing it works. the car is only running 10 psi so i think the boost may have been turned down.
anyway fitted the chip adjusted the actuator a tiny bit and started it up.
seems to idle a bit higher now and is a tiny bit of smoke so it could be running rich?
just going to take it real easy to my mates tommorrow so he can check the co2 out.
just trying to find out what the c02 should be for this chip.

Tony at Turbosystems should be able to tell you the correct CO.

What colour is the smoke?

you need to set the co potentiometer to zero pot position
to do this:-
1. ignition off
2. turn the co screw 5 turns clockwise
3. turn co screw exactly 2 turns anti clockwise

the c02 was at 3% so just left it there. only hitting 13psi though but am on the standard actuator so may get a -31.
although i keep thinkin of selling and getting a s3 or a evo for some reason.

remove the restrictor from the r port of the amul valve and recheck the boost level
this can be done bt using a small self taper
boost level should be set at around 17 psi spike ,holding 15-16 tailing at 6krpm to 13
fuel pressure should be set to 3.8 bar absolute ie vac off

That's the best way baz get it done right first time like I did and mine was reliable I used to use it everyday and it never let me down.
I think you will be supprised at how much it will cost it's not that bad.

It may be worth getting them cleaned if second hand.
