My series One is missing the front drivers side end cap. I've not come across one for sale yet but I did come across some genuine Ford front caps but they where black. How where they supplied from the factory? In white? do the black ones have a different texture etc??

Also are genuine front and rear metal bumpers and over riders still availible from Ford?? does anyone know the finis of them and end caps?

Can you still get new lights from Ford like front/side indicaters front rear lamps? I saw a set of front amber indicaters sell for £46 +p+p on ebay!
What makes where the lamps?

I find that you have to give the Ford parts people the Finis numbers or they can't find the parts

Anything else discontinued for the Series 1 I should know about?? or is it a case of what is available for the Series 1 lol

 

i cant answer those questions mate but will agree with ford parts service being
useless, rung them enquiring about a gasket and they did not have a clue
what i was on about, had to ring Woodford Garage and they give me a part
number and then i rang ford back

 

Try http://www.fordpartsuk.com/ and request the parts you want with the best description if you don't know the part numbers.They won't have the parts on the actual website,but they put themselves out to find what you want.They search stocks at other dealers all over Europe.

Me and a mate are restoring S1's,just a few months ago they got my mate a brand new rear bumper with end caps already painted,back panel,complete tailgate and even interior rear arch trims! and prices weren't bad either.These came from Germany.

We find that the dealers can't be bothered to look up the parts any more and even if they have them they're not logged on their databases.

Selling amber indicators for £22 a pair...might be pattern though

I have in the past "re textured" plastic parts with a crackle finish by spraying them in primer and rubbing down with wet or dry to get them to a smooth finish and then spray them with top coat can take a few good coats of primer to get them smooth but worth it. There are often the black end caps on e.bay. (search on escort MK3 or rs turbo)

All bumper end caps are supplied already painted mate. As far as I know none of the parts u are after are available from frod except for the side repeaters which I think still are. A pair of genuine ford rear lights usually go for about £80.00, and the proper headlights go for about £50.00 each. Can't remeber the make, Carello or something with H4 written in the centre of the light. Bumpers come up every now n then on ebay so just keep your eyes open I guess. Good luck mate
