I have recently bought a escort rs turbo engine and was wondering what I need to do to my radiator so that the T3 turbo will fit...or will a radiator from a different car fit and if not, where can I go to get a custom made radiator?

You will have to make the radiator L shaped to clear the turbo.

sound , so im guessin its possible to move the rad forward a little bit...but how much?

 

most get rid of some of the front slam pannel just beside the headlights and make up a new bracket to hold the rad and move it out a bit. how much is depending on which rad you are using. my presumtion is the origonal rs turbo rad???? there are threads on the kaklub which show various members using the standard rs. they dont have to move it much forward but a whole new bracket is usually made for the rad and the bonnet catch. there was a white rally ka in performance ford a while back running a 1700 puma which had the same job done look that up.

If you are running the T2 Fiesta manifold and turbo then you will clear the rad.

If you are running T3 YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE AN L SHAPED RAD or a custom made and mounted one behind the bumper (involving cutting slam panels and removing the bonnet catch etc etc.)

Im going to be using a zetec turbo with T3 manifold and turbo and i have the exact same problem.

 

how much extra room is needed? over 20mm?

 

or just buy my rad setup as it was fitted to joey p old ka and is fitted to back of ka where rear seats whould be
