hi, escort rs turbo,,it starts for a few seconds then dies. then wont start unless yu leave it for few minutes. its bein used wit a 1.1 fuel pump could this be the problem, sounds stupid but has enough fuel to start it. hope someone can help.thanks

 

I would say Defo fuel related. Make sure the pumps getting 12v for a start. Lots of faults I think can be traced to rhis

 

At a guess its running lean, it starts up fine with the cold start injector/fast idle, then dies as the injector is cut off.

Im not saying the pump is the cause but don't be a pikey. Then get your self down to someone decent for a set up.

PS, mine was doing this a few years ago because i had a slight air leak so the car was running weak.

As above check for air leaks, extremely common on RST's! Also try increasing your idle mixture 1/4 of a turn clockwise might just be a little lean.
