I want to buy some headphones off there. The auction still has 6 days to go but I have emailed the seller and he has offered them to me for a VERY good price.

He said if I pay him today (Paypal) he will post first class recorded also and end auction.....

Now, I use ebay a fair bit and am not stupid and have never been dooped....yet ive been checking him out, seems genuine, been a member of ebay since 03 but only sold /bought 3 things and has 2 feedback (100% though)

IF I pay'd him by paypal (totaly will be about £79ish) I am covered if it turns out to be dodgy....don't think it will be but just have a feeling

Also, if he ends the auction (and I didn;t win through ebay) will that void my chances of getting money back etc?

Also, can he set up a Buy it now mid point of auction (but it does have 2 bids so dont think he can? )

If he was genuine then I can't see him ending the auction before you have paid him! No seller in their right mind would do that! (You could be a seller in competition with a similar item trying to arse him about)

Get a phone number for him and give him a call!

You will not be covered by eBay in any way if he ends the auction early as it is against their rules to do so

Just got an email back from him, all seems sound, he has given me reasons of why he is selling them and how he got them etc....I have asked for his number and if all goes to plan will call him tonight

OK, had more contact with him, he has gave me his number which I will ring after work.

I have asked for pics of the phones as he has listed a "stock" photo on his listing, he aint got digi cam but has offered to send pics by camera phone, my phone is nokia 6600, but dont think I have pic messaging setup what do i need setup to recieve them?

 

Really don't think he will do that tho I could offer to pay the second listing cost, but then he would think I dont trust him one bit!

 

But, the more I think about it, why not?! Good idea really, if he is genuine and he knows I am a genuine bidder and will have them for sure then he will do it if I offer the couple extra quid it will cost him to re list.

 

At least that way its a genuine ebay auction, and you know your safe!

Aslong as he has lots of good feedback you should be ok as this would suggest he is a genuine person.

He was totally cool about cancelling the listing and then re listing buy it now. However, turns out cos he has only 2 feedbacks he couldn't relist a BIN!

He uses paypal, but must have 5 or more feedback, he was gutted cos it would mean re listing if I didnt have them (plus he already cancelled bids out he had

I paypal'd him the money, cos he had emailed me loads since, and he had sent me pics of the phones so I know he is no talking shit and they are new in box etc

He is top geeza, sending them tomo speacial delivery will get them 9am monday
