Hi there
...
I have a little problem finding the correct handbrake cable to my rear disc conversion.
My setup is this:
Sierra Cosworth 4wd rear brake calipers
280 mm. Sierra Cos. vented discs
Adaptor bracket for the calipers
All the treads i have found regarding this conversion all lets me know that i need a handbrake cable for a mk 5 Escort Rs2000 and the "halfmoon" connector from the mk 4 handbrake cable.
But the cables i have tried to purchase here in Denmark will not fit this conversion at all....
The danish/german Escort mk 5 Rs2000's have rear discs yes, BUT the handbrake is within the rear discs like a brake drum. Therefore the ends of the cables just have a small "lump". And not the Eye i need for the handbrake arm on my calipers.
My calipers look like this:

So i was wondering if your British mk5 Rs2000 rear brake setup was different than ours here in Denmark?
If so, can anyone link me to a place i can purchase the correct cable
??

But jacob just purchased a complete rear disc kit. So he has no idea where the cable is from.
But i guess I have to send Burton a mail then. Maybee they can supply me the correct cable
Make a search on ebay.co.uk with key word ''rs turbo rear'' and there you should find a guy who selling this cable. If you don't find anything i will send you the seller or the link when i go to my home, late at night

Handbrake cable you need is an rs2000 type, burtons stock these for Ł20 www.burtonpower.co.uk
The calipers would work better if you switched them over. The way you have them the handbrake cable will be under the wishbone, its better ontop.
They will require taking off the hub with the disk still attached to bleed them properly.

Regarding the placement of the cable i have seen this the way you mean, But i think i can make it work fine with the cable beeing under the wishbone
Kasper
I dont think you read my question correctly? I know its a Rs2000 type, but the end of the cable is wrong on the Rs2k cables i ordered here in denmark.
