I'm currently trying to convert my ZS to an ST and having a lot of difficulties with it. I've got the engine,ECU, Wiring Loom, the clock and ignition barrel. but still nothing. can anyone help? or has anyone successfully done a conversion?

Remember you may need to do alot more, i.e in terms of brakes/suspension. (The S has rear drums)

This is why personally I would never consider doing such a thing and just buy the faster car outright. Plus once you factor in the extra you will have to pay on your premium, it's going to be as expensive if not more most likely.

I don't know much about the ST (Duratec) engine but in any case it's completely different to the Zetec-SE (Sigma) you currently have. The inlet and exhaust are likely to be on opposing sides if it's anything like the Zetec.

Then you need the management, loom, re code the keys etc.

Just a few things that spring to mind.

I'd have gone with selling the ZS and getting an ST..

I can't believe how cheap they got in 12/18 months
