Hi all,
I am fitting gaz coilovers to my s2. The issue I am having is that the rear spring is touching the inside of my rim. I am very confused..
Any help would be greatly appreciated..

what wheels do you have? possibly to wide as the coilovers will be wider than the standard shocks.

Have you strengthed the rear shock turrets? They can break if the take the force of the cars weight on them, GAZ do a kit with rear spring adjusters so the spring remains on the lower arm. So you get adjustable shocks in the normal place and the springs are height adjustable in the normal place too...

the shock is wider as the spring s on it, u will have to run a 5-10mm spacer to clear or put rear disc conversion on that will space them out a bit

as above, you will need a spacer 10mm atleast, my RS7 diamond cuts still touch with rear disc conversion, so spacer is needed

They don't need strengthening. It's just what coilover companies say to cover their backs but a strut brace is advised. Tony at 909 sport has been rallying his RS1600i for many, many years with no turret mods and never had a problem.

Hi all, just a little update on these as i am stil having trouble with them, i had to put my old suspension back on to go to RSOC combe.

The issue i am having is that i am now running 8mm spacers which has pushed the wheels out too far into the outside of the arch!!
Also i have set the hight approx 1-2" above the tyre but cannot have people in the rear and when i go round islands it scrubs the arch

I am really stuck with these and feel very disapointed with the Gaz kit. My old Konis which are leaking and fubard are still better than this kit..

My setup is Rs'7 with 195/40 and 8mm spacers..

i've got the gaz kit on mine, but i've got discs on the back which adds a few mm.

you could have the arches modified

iv got the exact same issue!

as standard the top hats on my coilovers were too long, and with the car lowered to how i wanted it, they bottomed out on the shock body. made up custom top hats

my 17x7.5 MO's catch the springs, so im running 5mm spacers and rear discs, but the wheel is pushed so far out that the tyres no scrub the arches terrible! and thats with the arches already rolled and welded up flush!

also, how the hell are people running rear strut braces? as i cant see how the bolts for the rear strut brace can go thru the turret without fouling on the coilover unit on the other side, as its a fuckin tight fit in there!

also, i refuse to raise the car, as i want it low, which is why i bought coilovers lol so no people telling me to raise it please. im so adament to try and make this work, im even currently trying to source 185 35 17 tyres!!
