Default Clutch Problem On Esc Cos???

Last night I pulled away from a set of lights, put me foot down in 1st, went to change to 2nd and the clutch pedal became suddenly very stiff and she didn't wanna go anywhere! She now slips if you give it too much throttle and the pedal takes alot of effort to move and just bounces back into place forcing ya foot off the pedal!

Any ideas what this could be? Ive only just put the box back in, but it looks like she's coming out again this weekend

Its an Alcon 6 paddle clutch thats only done around 600miles

Fletch, there's a good chance the slef-adjusting mechanism has stuck on oneof the ratchet teeth. Common problem mate

Sounds like you've effectively welded the cover to the plate.

I've had something similar - a few jump starts in gear freed it up.

The onl other thing is check that the clutch cable hasn't melted by the turbo...........

Thanks for the ideas...

Ive just pulled the pedal up towards the drivers seat and heard a click! Now the pedal seems free (Not as stiff), but I can hear some sort of spring squeeking?? Possibly the fingers on the clutch plate? The cable feels "Lumpy" if that makes sense?

Well Ive just taken her up the road and she's seems to drive fine now Only thing is when I put my foot on/off the clutch it sounds like the clutch plate or release bearing is squeeking! So gonna change the cable and see if that makes a difference, if not box will have to come out (Again) and see whats going on in there...

Thanks for the suggestions

Steve,
As I explained the OE ratchet isn't really up to much and really needs changing for a hydraulic one. You will always have this problem when do fast get-a-ways, unless you change it, so just avoid doing launches or fit the hydraulic conversion kit - job done.

Click on my website for supply only prices...

Fitting is not cheap, however if combined with a clutch change - basically the clutch is done for free - the whole lot is then £600-700 (drive-train type dependent - 2wd is actually more expensive as the bell-housing needs modifiying).
