possibly the funniest Ebay add ever

Questions from other buyers for this listing
Q: Barry, can you tell me what an "XR3i/Cosworth" engine actually is? I don't recognise it. Thanks. Answered on 08-Feb-05
A: Barry? Who's Barry? Anyway. The car had a bigger engine fitted a few years ago from a 1.3 to a 1.8i. The top half of the engine is a cosworth engine which also has a chrome top - just to make it look good and the bottom half is an XR3i engine. The new engine has done 67000 miles. I have all the receipts from it being done and all the MOT slips from then aswell. Hope this answers your question but if not please don't hesitate to get in touch. Thanks, Kirstin
PMSL look flower... that is a 1.6 Xr3i engine in there.. the 'chrome top' (rocker for those who dont know the technical term) of the engine is BLATANLY a CVH one

I'm sorry i'm not sure. It's my ex who used to drive it. I'm selling it because I bought it, that's all. I think the Logbook needs changing tho yeah. Think it may still be reg'd as a 1.3.

Registered as a 1.3 and its a 1.8. Lovely and legal.

APMSL illegal as well, this car gets better and better!!

i've asked this question - lets see the responce

funny looking cosworth "top half of engine"

considering cossie heads don't actually fit the cvh block, also considering cosworths were EFI and not MFI (like your car - MFI (altho this usually stands for "Made For Idiots", in this case, mechanical fuel injection).

so basically its still the 1.6 cvh smokebomb that someone threw into place?

and the bonnet - jesus tonite on fire with a hot poker up his bum - what on earth was someone thinking when they decided that a pulsar vent would look good on there? i bet stevie wonder could read the filler around the edges of it aswell.

hope you sell it tho - to a scrap dealer.

Dammit barry! Why is there never a Buy It Now option on these classics? I'm now faced with an anxious bidding war!

Because Barry knows that there are so many people out there who would want to own this fine example that the bidding will go through the roof for it.

What's that you say?.... there isn't in fact a load of classic car collectors beating down his door to own it....

My doing I'm afraid. I just did not understand the engine setup, so I thought I'd ask. The 'Barry' intro was just for people here.

My question

Im so interested in your Engine. The Chrome Rocker cover does this give any advantages to the engine. IE Xtra speed or power?
THe cosworth Top engine. How have you fitted this to the XR3i engine.
Also hope you do not mind me asking how quick does it go?
SOrry some of my questions may sound stupid but i am a 17 yr old and this would be my first power wagen!
