it is to do with mapping and choice of cams and general head spec also, along with other factors such as compression ratio..
there are many things that can be done to 'map out' the effects of a HOOOGE turbo.

It's not only exhaust housings, but wheels geometry, weight, bearings, special mapping to fight lag, also compressor wheel has impact..

Its mainly down to much newer technology wheels in the turbos (well all parts really, wheels, housings, beaings, shafts, etc).

Its a joke really=
Whats the difference between a GT30 and a RS500 T4?
About 30 years and a Scania Truck

yea, i think total bullshit is a big part of it, lol.

the need for these huge housings on a engine around 2litre is quite bizzare anyhow...

it's all about getting the right combination of parts in the turbo for the engine. modern management also helps response off boost exponentially. On a HUGE RS200 turbo for example it's possible to be at a full 2-bar of boost by under 4000rpm keeping these things in mind

Basically because the huge turbos now use roller bearing technology which help spin turbo up quicker.

hi the bigger a/r the longer spool up time but
more flow at the top of your rpm.the bigger the
a/r the more area the longer it take's fill up with
exhaust gas but it should hold boost to the end of
the rpm[not unless your acturator is weak]

something like that

the muppet will NEVER be finished, long live the haters its taken him about a year to pick a turbo, only another 100 or so parts to go and it will be up and running and then you'll be scared

Er i first mentioned this build at the end of December 04...its now early FEB...a very funny year It will be done as soon as all the parts arrive as SPEC is now final.

Do you really think this is all bollocks or are you just trying to impress the boys?

pmsl , no i believe your doing it phil, imo it would be better if you told people what your doing instead of this vale of secrecy and shite, hat off to you mate if your doing this by yourself and we are genuinly interested in your progress, try being one of the lads again instead of isolating yourself by keeping everyone in the dark, nobody is going to copy you , it just makes for more intersting reading if your reporting summit worth reading instead of repeating yourself about the same stuff but just saying it in a different way

anyway , back to normal............stop talking shite, i'm no fudge pusher
