My Mk1 Fiesta 1.3GL show car-some new pics 6/4/13.
Been a big fan of classic Fords for years and for the last year i really started to want one.I wanted to try & find one as original as possible with nothing needing doing to it that i could just get into & drive & use it for shows.
Managed to find this, built in late 1981 & registered in Feb 1982,3 owners from new (the previous guy had it 8 yrs & covered just 1,300 miles)23,000 miles the day i picked it up,garaged all it's life-totally original, never welded, painted or restored, still displaying the original dealer plates & tax disc holder.

Yes keeping it original,as much as i like the thought of adding some Rs 4 spokes i like the fact it's original. The only thing thats been changed by the previous owner is the radio.I have the standard push button Ford unit which i am going to put back in.

Wow..
I learned to drive in one like that!
My mum had one, and so did a neighbour, both Fiesta's could be started with each others keys too.. those were the days..
Bit different these days.!

After last years show season finished i decided to get the fiesta in to have a few minor jobs done (at first i didn't really want to touch it as it's so original) but if i left it the car would get worse. The car is mint as it was but the bottom edges/corners of each wheel arch had very minor rust, bit of rust in the seams where wings join valance, plus a slight dent in front panel behind bumper bracket.Having the underside painted black with the wheel arches re-done in body colour along with panel under boot.I wanted as little as possible done so as not to go too far from standard/original.Here's a few pics the guy doing the work has sent me.Once it's done it will be 100% mint.

As its almost show season thought i'd post up some new pics of the Fiesta, attending the first show of the year next Sunday 14th April in Kent so really looking forward to that.
Taken at a Subaru meet in February.

After a good polish.
