Default AMAL valve

Hi all. Are the AMAL valves the same on the RS Turbo as a 2wd cossie?

I suspect mine not to be working and have been offered a RS turbo one cheap. Looks the same but are they?

They work exactly the same, but I think the jets (small plastic tubes within the ports) are a different size. Will be ideal to determine if yours is knackered.

Exactly what he said, but I guess you could always swap the jets from your existing valve if so?

amal valve aint a complicated thing......does it click when u turn ur ignition on......other than that u can take it apart and remove the spring & weight from inside and then it just runs fully open......mine's been like this for years

That sounds dangerous and kind of pointless and you don't actually have any boost control as it's not doing it's job, it's designed to fail safe for a reason, nothing personal just saying.

opinions vary...................like said an amal valve aint all that,mine just runs open at all times...the cars mapped to suit

......soz for being snotty fella,but i had this argument on here before with a well know person telling me i was wrong....then Tony from Turbosystems came on and said i was right......i only ever give out advise that i've done or seen work myself.........

tabs u were the one coming on the thread calling people stupid,so it does get my back up when i know this method eliminates a daft electrical/wiring fault......so i aint fucking arguing about it either...........xx
