Default ST170 and 1.8 ancillaries

Hey all
been looking a doing an ST170 conversion to my 1999 1.8.
Theres a few bare engines on ebay and i was wondering if the ancillaries from the 1.8 will fit, also will the ib4 gearbox fit.

Thanks

All the belt driven ancilliaries will fit, the ST170 engine is essentially a 2.0 litre Zetec with a funky head so all the fittings are the same.

I would advise fitting the ST170 power steering pipe, especially if using an ST170 exhaust manifold (standard shit one will fit to begin with though). I'm almost certain the standard plastic inlet won't fit the head ST170 head though (different port spacings) so you'll either need to use your 1.8 head to begin with with the 1.8 head gasket or knock up an inlet manifold somehow.

There's a few other minor things to consider but it's not an outrageously difficult swap. Wiring and ECU, if you go down that route, will be a pain in th'arse as well but, again, there's ways around that!

imho if your not going to make full use of the variable cam timing and inlet which will need the st170 ecu to work then i wouldn't bother with the st170 engine. just drop a tuned 2l zetec in there, straight easy swap as you can keep your standard fuel
system too!!

also if its going to be tracked and get lots of abuse then i'd fit the mtx75 box and shafts from any 2l mk1 focus.

the standard inlet will physically fit on the st170 head.the ports are 2mm out at the bottom meaning theres a small lip which can be filed out.i think the st170 ports are taller too by 4mm but i dont think its an issue.
