Default st170 mpg

im just wondering how many miles per tank of petrol does a st170 do as my insurance is due for renewal and im thinking of changing from my 1.4 to the st, but seen as i really only do around 12 miles a day town driving is it worth my while as i average around 350/80 a tank at the moment and the price of petrols getting a bit stupid now, thanks for any help

The most I ever got from my old st170 was 280 miles from a tank, which is shocking for a 2.0 N/A!

As Rich said. A few people I know get about the same or less as my ST225. Very shocking tbh.

I get about 280 on a tank with a mix of round town and a bit of motorway.

On way back from Santa pod the other week got 38mpg going at 65-70!!!! I thought the trip was screwed lol.

You have said you only do 12 miles a day which aint alot so I guess maybe that you can justify the cost?

Damn! Shame you lost the argument. My Mrs wants me to swap the ST or a Mitsibishi L200. God knows why as its no cheaper to run than an ST.

Might get a Focus RS in green next year to annoy her. She hates my orange st, be the same with the green.

theres a green rs near mine witht he wheels painted black and it does look pretty awesome, and does the lambada sensor effect mpg could be a problem with mine as i thought it could be losing mpg due to bigger wheels and leather seats coz they are pretty heavy

I do around 270 miles every fortnight from a brimmed tank, gauge always ends up in the middle of the 1/4 and red marks, roughly works out around 25-27 mpg unless i thrash it, if you go for one beware i had to buy lowering springsŁ112 set of 4, as my o/s/f spring snapped and genuine ford are Ł75 each with staff discount!! ( i work for quickco sunderland, our manchester base is a ford parts dealer) and the ford ones were on a 5 day back order, which can easily turn into 5months, i need my car for work so needed it sorted asap, road tax is also Ł134.50 for 6months. check for a timing belt change too as the recommended interval is 100k miles but the tensioners or tensioner bolts seem a weak point mines only on 71,000 miles and i did full timing belt and tensioner/idler change october/november last year. Gotta say they sound great when you put your foot down a bit
As for qashqai we are still shifting loads of shockers for these although the turbo problems seem to have stopped now

What price is the one you looked at? been thinking of selling mine (Ł2300 o.n.o.) standard spec 5 door in grey, half leather, aircon works well, allround e/w, rcl, global windows set up aswell as anti hijack locking(can do this on most focus though)tax end aug, mot til march 2012, hpi clear, mileage verified and double checked mot history on vosa, near full history, only one stamp missing, been looking out for a bigger diesel but the mondeo tdci`s seem rubbish so may go for a older tddi
