Default Gripper diffs

Just been ringing around today for prices on diffs for the 3dr and Gripper is,

A, the one I can actually afford

B, they have one in stock.

and C its a plated diff as I dont want a geared one like the Quaife.

Before I take the plunge, I wanted to hear what you lot think on here.

they seem to be great diffs but can clonk and make noises (plates) when turning corners.

I've contacted them (Gripper) on January 18 2011 by email, got reply on Jan 26 stating 4 weeks delay, wrote again after 4 weeks (no answer), eventually called and got another "4 week delay" answer, wrote again 4 weeks later and still waiting (4 full months elapsed now) for answers about actual availability of 6.5" + 7" diffs for my Escort. Perhaps they don't want new customers? I'm not hurried but Titan Motorsports may get my business, eventually...

Drop steveboyslim on here a pm or give him a ring:
Steve Milton : 07973 729 171

He's normally very competitive on gripper and quaiffe diff prices.

Gripper quoted Ł750 or somewhere close to that, and Titan wanted Ł1250 + vat, making them far to expensive for me sorry, im only an enthusiast with a hobby budget as I have two kids and saving Ł800 was a struggle lol.

but most of you seem to be happy with the Gripper ones so i think i will stick to that, I dont mind a bit of clunking i cant imagine its as bad as my welded diff lol.

Hey I don't work for Titan... my quote from Gripper was GBP625 each and Titan's were GBP750 each, so more expensive but not as much difference as in your quotes. The problem is I want something like 55/80 ramps for the front diff and Titan does not make them so I'm stuck to Gripper and their poor communication. At the end I may settle for 45/60 front and rear and bite the (Titan) bullet...

I wasnt talking about a front diff on a 4x4 i was talking about a rear 7.5" 2wd 3dr diff which are more expensive anyway bud.

Anyway I ordered the Gripper today with a ramp of 40/70, all i need now is some runner tires to have some fun on lol.

Yes I know that, both Gripper and Titan prices were the same for 6.5" front and 7" rear, I'm a bit surprised by the huge jump between 7" and 7.5", production volume perhaps? Anyway, I wish I could order mine too... have fun!
