It's half T3 and half T4. Usually a T4 conpressor with a T3 turbine for petrol engines, but for diesel I've seen it the other way around too.

So what's the advantage of having a t4 rear housing on a t3? More power output?

A larger back housing will spool up slower, won't get as hot and can run high boost as won't stall dew 2 the fact they can flow more air.
If a t34 and a t35 are the same y didn't they just call them t34s? A t34 is a modified turbo using components, where a t35 is a product that has been manufactured and sold.
But as I said before, might be wrong!!

Correct, T3/4 has a larger compressor wheel and housing than the T3 series has in its range. In fact, the compressor wheel is from the T4 range...

T34 is not a production turbo.as above its a mixture of different componets from excisting turbos. I thought most people would know this.

Garrett's terminology for the Escort Cosworth turbo is a T03/4B. The T35 doesn't exist as an off the shelf item for petrol applications but there is diesel T35 for a DAF truck.

The 3/4 comes from being half way between the T3 range and the T4 range.

Cilly, the word you were looking for was “sure”!

It's not a T3 or a T4. It's a model of turbo which fits in between a T3 and a T4, hence the name T03/4B.

It has a unique .48 turbine housing, a 55 trim compressor wheel with a .63 compressor housing. Options being a .63 turbine housing and a 60 trim compressor wheel.

Remember, that the compressor "trim" does not describe the sixe, only the square of the inducer/exducer ratio. So, a 55 trim T4 compressor is still bigger than a 55 trim T3 compressor.

According to Burton Power a T34 is from a "Big Turbo" Early Escort Cosworth!
