On idle they do sit around -20psi mate.

Does it feel like its boosting properly and pulling away?

Ive only taken the car up the road once since the conversion from a 3i to rs, so it's first time I've been in a rs turbo, it definatly seemd to pick up like the turbo liked in and the dump valve did his between gears but since I've fitted the gauge it seems like it can't of been boost correctly at all, could it be the actuator ? I do have a bleed valve that isn't fitted but poped it on just to see if the boost was rite down or something but it didn't alter the boost at all jus seemed to flick upto 0psi cheers Ryan

First piece of advise is to get that bleed valve off now mate. If your using one of them only let a tuner put them on and set them up or else their is a chance the engine will go pop due to overboosting.

If it was a conversion i would double check all boost and vacum hoses.

You might also want to get a tuner to take a look if that all looks fine. My local tuner only charges £65 for a basic set up session.

Check for a vac/boost leak... The gauge might be causing a leak?
Also the actuator might not be adjusted very much!

You not going to see any boost on idle, only vacuum which is what you have, are you using the correct dump valve?

Hi I'm using a baileys dump valve, I've checked all vacume hoses and they seem fine, also the car seems to fire on 3 at first then runs sound after few seconds but it hunting, guesing this is a sighn of a air leak? And yes I'm def guna take it to my local tubers and get it set upbut don't want to take it of the turbo is nackerd in the first place or there's a air leak, how can you test for air leaks? If the system I's a vacume I gues leak detector stray or soapy water would be a waste of time as no bubbles would apear? Also how do you check the wastegate? Cheers lads Ryan

Not really a waste of time with the soapy water spray matey, I think the fluid temporarily seals any leaks and youll hear a change in revs.

It is the correct "Twin Piston D/V" for RST though? Using WD40 sparingly round manifolds etc when engine is running is useful for detecting an air leak, if so the revs should change.
