Hi i have a lowly 1.2 1996 fiesta si fitted with a 1250cc 16 valve zetec engine and power steering. The water pump has siezed solid. I have been told you can replace it without removing the cam belt as i had this done last year. Plus how do i get a auxilary belt off i cannot see how to slaken any thing. If some one could give me a run down on how to remove and replace the water pump i would be greatefull. I know you guys have the souped up fiestas but can some one help a old 60 year old out. automatic sprung loaded tensioner, plus that is a yamaha engine, all alloy block, wont take much of a heating to cook it!

 

I've done one before, pretty sure timing belt does have to come off tho!

 

Hi i was very lucky no over heating pulled up every thing great then horrible noise smoke from belt turned engine off could see water pump pully was siezed cut belt of engine sweet as a nut. I know that it states in the manual timing belt needs removing but i have seen about three posts where with a bit of fiddling the pump can be installed without taking timing belt of. If any one can give me a run down how to take the pump of and replace it would be a great help. f1bash
