Default Urgent advice - Fiesta 2004/04 1.6

Hi All,
I have a problem with EKO (My 2004/04 1.6 Fiesta) since a sizable front end "bump" (pictures below) the cars been awful. recently i have had a mis fire on the car which has at times cut the engine at idle and on light acceleration. I have had the following done to resolve the issue -

1 - plugs
2 - leads
3 - full service
4 - coil (twice)

other work done since the bump -
ECU
battery
alternator
clutch
front suspension
steering / steering rack
driveshafts
water pump
timing belt
fan belt
front brakes
two front tyres
coolant change
oil change and filter
air filter and pollen filter
air conditioner, pump and cooler

now the ****ing thing is doing it again, its started a few days ago, came up to some lights soon after starting it went to stall, battery light came on and engine revs dropped to 500 it recovered and didn't stall, the second i let it off the clutch boom, stalled

restarted and every now and again it gave a little cough and the rev drops and recovers

now on the way home tonight it started the same fault, so i stopped and put it into the diag mode, its flashing DTC/d262 on the dash. When it doesn't misfire I have no codes (dtc/none)

My Mechanic has said its the ECU, which was replaced in the accident, so I guessing he could if he wanted he could take me for a ride and charge me the earth for the repairs, I believe him what you you think? I really need some help on this as I have raised it with the insurence and its going into Fords on Friday. They are telling me its the Cat Convertor - any ideas?

d

Personally although the accident was nearly two years ago I dont think it should be on the road...

I will be honest and say I don't know, it went to Lookers Vauxhall! for the repairs! It was away from 29th April to 30th September the same year.

WD40 will also work, it's basically to identify an air leak, if you spray it sparingly around the manifold with the engine running and the revs rise it shows there to be an air leak.

Have you checked the clutch switch I think it would have one, as you say it's when you released the clutch very much doubt it but it's worth a look as it has been known for the connector to be kicked off by a stray boot!
