I've just bought K3v ha's car a.k.a DOO's old beast
and i'm VERY happy with it, but theres a couple of minor gripes.
1. going slow in 1st gear, tckling speed bumps etc, the engine/box clunks abit, as if a mounts gone. is this the case and if so, are uprated mounts available to buy?
2. when reversing, with a bit of right lock, the offside rear disk vibrates rather loudly, as if its binding only does it in reverse though. A simple case of the caliper sticking slightly?
thanks ppl

with all high powerd rst,s mate everything is put under that bit more strain i had a 250 bhp s2 and it went thru steering racks engine and gearbox mounts and wheelbearings go for fiesta deisel mounts just as good as the jazzy colourd uprated ones and try a new rack as torque steer batters them, get it to a garage up on the ramps and give a full once over i always do this with new cars saves ya comming across things later on when you want it reliable hope that helps abit
Sorry, is this a Beantin?? I will assume it is. Sorry if not!! LOL.
1. Vibratechnics Engine Mounts. DEFINATELY the way to go. IMO, those and a B&M Shifter will get rid of all the unwanted movement in the Engine/Gearbox and consequently, you wont feel the movement through the gear lever.
2. If it has had a Cossie Rear Disk conversion, the chances are the outside edge of the disc is touching the caliper. Try loosening off the bolts and lever the caliper out a bit, then re-tighten. If this isn't enough, then file a little bit out of the inside of the caliper where it is touching.
Hope this helps.
