Fiesta turbo hesitation.....PLEASE HELP
Right here goes.....
I have been restoring my fiesta over this year and yesterday got it to the point where we were ready to take her out for a little test drive.....
since i last drove it we have done the following mods:
1.60mm front mount intercooler
2.t3 conversion
3. fitted some beige injectors
the car already has a 165 chip fitted (i beleive?)
cone filter
stainless exhaust
Now the problem im getting is only what i can describe as a hesitation/kangarooing/missfire, this happens when u rev it, it misses at 1000rpm, but as you rev it more it clears, now as said we took it round the industrial estate yesterday, and it does the hesitating thing constanty, before you even get anywhere near boost, i didnt take it too near to boosting as i could obviously see something wasnt right.
Now the car didnt do this when we took it off the road last year, so im thinking this could be 3 things
1.the beige injectors?
2.the fuel filter? as it hasnt been changed since i got the car and looks rather old.
3. my leads?
Anyone had this experience? as its booked for its mot next week and im starting to panic
as always your help is always apprieciated

when i converted my xr2i to t3 set up i used the beiges with a 165 chip,it ran like an absolute dog but tracked a 195 chip and now runs smooth as anything.put blues back in til you find a 195 chip
Right......i put the blues back in today....and now it turns over and trys to fire/fires then cuts out after a few seconds like your out of fuel
Car has 3/4s of a tank.....so im assuming its the fuel filter as i havent changed this since i bought the car and have had all the tank and lines out for at least 8 months, so maybe i have dragged some shit through and blocked it?....back to camberly auto factors lol

very same thing was hapening to mine,
turned out to be the speed sensor, not the sensor its self but the conetion block leading to the loom.
the sensor is on the end of the speedo cable at the gear box
tuck me an age to find the prob, as i didnt think the speed sensor would cause such a problem

Right.......looks to be coilpack, checked fuel today by disconecting it where it meets the rail and it absolutely pisses out
checked with a multimeter if theres 12v going to the plug....whch there is, but an shocking spark my mechanic mate tells me.
so gunna borrow a coilpack tomorrow and see what happens

Just to get this right in my mind , you bought car and it was running fine , then you did your mods and fitted the beige injectors and when you ran it again it had this problem , how long is it between it running ?
Had one not long ago and the fuel pressure reg had gone faulty with standing and it was giving massive pressure , but likewise it could of failed in a low pressure mode so with the beiges in it was actually running better as it was delivering fuel at lower pressure but through bigger injectors , and now you have put blues in they are not delivering enough to run .
The TPS being disconnected and it running better may well be because it goes to a default half throttle position if no feed seen to prevent running weak and then with low fuel pressure it richens it up to the point that it can run .
The TPS does share the feed and earth with the map so it could also have got a short within the TPS causing the voltage to drop within that feed to the point where the map , act , cts and co adjuster so a TPS fault could a LOT of issues depending on its failure mode .
