just picked up my old 3dr head from the engineer who told me the valves were worn but with the naked eye can you tell or has he had to use a guage

it`ll be up for sale soon as i got hold of another one,so dont want to advertise it incorrectley

i'd ask em everything else is making assumptions, as u say with the naked eye its hard/impossible to see

 

Very easy to see, the wear on the valves of the yb head is usually the edges of the valves themselves, they get thin, and can in extreme case glow on the exhaust valves, a lot of the time as they may have been recut/faced way too thin, they do also suffer from stem wear/scoring.
