Not done a great deal to the engine as it is difficult to increase the power but it has a magnex cat back exhaust K & N typhoon with cold air feed and dreamscience RACE 97 CAIS map. Most of the mods have been to improve the handling eibach springs, dampers, arb's and camber adjusters front and rear. It has been lightened by the removal of most of the interior and replacing of seats with buckets so whilst it is not fast it handles fairly well and has been fun enough on the track days I use it for.

cool, you've done the same engine mods ive been toying with. have you rolling roaded it? if you dont lower too low are the camber adjusters necessary?

Not taken it on a rr as although it runs well enough I imagine the results would be fairly disappointing.

The camber adjusters are probably not strictly necessary as it is not much lower than standard but they are set up to optimise grip on track.

do you reckon that would get you up to 180bhp? not a massive increase for the money, but every little helps.

ah i see, cheers.

It might if the car had/ has 170 bhp to start with but the problem with st170's is most of them don't make th power they are supposed to.

To be honest I didn't really notice any difference in power with the K & N or the exhaust. Although they make it sound better I don't think they do much else. The dreamscience map does make quite a big difference though worthwhile if you can get hold of a stratagem second-hand as they don't make them anymore although you can still get the maps put on at approved dealers.

I personally believe the best way forward with the st170 (unless you want to invest loads of money) is to improve the handling. Whilst they are not that quick in a straight line they perform well in the corners with a few choice tweaks.
