a volvo 440 turbo The small T2 is chatting away in front. Anyway better then nothing i geuss

I hate renaults. They always brake down Its a shame my engine is from the same france factory

From memory the 480 coupe and the 440 shared the same guts , there was a revision on the engines midway through production.
Early mdl had the porsche designed lump that was a great engine but vovlvo detuned from the original design and the later mdls had a vovlvo designed lump.
The porsche lumps were a great engine with big power potential , seen a few being swapped over to fit the 5 gt turbo.
So you might have some porsche spirit to brighten up your volvo !!

From what i know that its just the head thats designed by porsche and the bottom end is just a renault 1.7 engine? But yes. If you put some time in it you can get a nice tuned engine. Allready making plans to change the T2 for a T25 i have here

I think the bottom end might be diff as the cr was changed and the cc too.
Not 100% sure , i recall reading an article in the ccc mag , may even still have it ! will have a search this wknd.

you want boring, try a mk3 mondeo 1.8, had it for 18 mnths getting very bored now, at least the volvo's turbo,d , get a bigger turbo and have a laugh

Remember years back when i was about 18 a couple of local kiddies cottoned on to the fact some of the 440's were turbo and the cheapest route to a dump valve lol, albeit a very uncool one

that silly fukker was in the paper wasnt he. goin thru town with a 6ft flame coming out the back of it.. that and all the lights hanging off it, got him taken off the road!!!
