Default Advice on unheard of Brake Co's..

Two I've come across make uprated large brake kits, but I've never heard of them.

Anyone offer some feedback if you know them or have had experience of the brakes themselves?

Ksport 8 Pot 330mm Brake Kit and XYZ Front 6 Pot 355mm Brake Kit.

Leaking seals was a problem with one of those, with brakes you generally get what you pay for. Go AP and you wont regret it, go cheap and you will.

Too true Martin, only issue is its for a GM car and AP don't seem to list for this vehicle.

Its an import from the states but is the same as the Omega B Facelift model?

I've tried the usual well known names... AP, Brembo, Highspec, Comp Brake with nothing listed, Google brought up the two companies mentioned.

Google is your friend...

XYZ - made in Taiwan

K Sport. Proved in Time Attack. Made in China?

Total shit unless you're using it to slow down a plastic wheel in a hamster's cage judging by the reviews.

lol... Looking good then, mind you that review link you've put up overall says that the XYZ brakes aren't that bad for the cost.

I'll email Will also as he's has been working on Ronnies Time Attack car and he might have some advice on the K Sport stuff.....

Google isn't your friend, when you just post up one negative review by someone who clearly has a beef with XYZ and has posted the same story on several forums. Keep Googling and there appears to be many more 'for' than 'against' posts, especially given the price.

There's not a single suspension, or brake manufacturer who has a 100% customer satisfaction record. Dig hard enough and you'll find a complaint for every single one of them.

Fair point and I apologise for being unduly negative about them.

I've just bought K Sport 8 pot 356mm front brakes and 356mm 6 pot rear brakes to go on to my Evo. I currently have AP 6 pot brakes with 362mm discs with standard Brembos on the rear.

I've decided to do this based on the many favourable reviews over on the MLR (Mitsi version of this place ish)

I'm quite confident that they will work just fine for me

Just make sure you ditch standard K Sport brake pads for something decent like Carbotech XP8 or XP10s, the supplied pads are notoriously pants

Why have you changed Si? Were you not happy with the AP's?

Seen many cars using K sport, and they were given some serious use, not heard anything bad really, same as ap really complaint wise.
There are millions of people(ok not millions but you get the idea) who can make you brackets to suit the car and caliper of your choice, dead easy job on a milling machine.
I do think AP are way overpriced, good they may be, but is the goodness that needed on a road car, when other less expensive alternatives exist.
