Default Lifting Rs Turbo bonnet at the back- why?

Right, forgive me again for being green but what is this with raising the hinged end of the bonnet on ersts? It looks weird and sort of cool but why do it? I've seen the lifting blocks on Ebay pretty cheap, is it just a trend or is it functional?

Keeps the under bonnet temps down as I have a Grs intercooler on mine blocking most of the airflow to the rad.

Mmmm..looks quite trick..I also have a large Grs intercooler so i might even lift mine, cheers, I take it the block goes inbetween the hinge and the car and the hinge operates as normal? S1 looks mint by the way I absolutely love 'em!
