Nouveau Red ESCORT MK6 RS2000 4x4
Right, amazed and slightly annoyed that I'm doing this already, but the recent pikey attack up the lock up has forced me to move the RS2000 back home and I really don't have the space for this and the ST170. Both are for sale, so which ever goes first really.
So....
1 of only 8 Nouveau Reds ever made. Number 585 of the total 600 RS2000 4x4's. This is believed to be the last one left on the road now, hence why I was so keen to buy it and keep it alive!
Recently replaced the engine after a spark plug was blown through the head while in the hands of previous owner. After removing the head, we found score marks on the pistons and swarf fused to the head. At this point we decided a new engine was the best bet. New engine sourced from a rear ended 4x4, so was able to hear the engine running before purchase. No paperwork to prove mileage on the engine, despite my best efforts to find out! Due to the lack of knowledge on mileage, the time chain and tensioners will all be renewed this weekend to make sure it's all square on that front.
Done about 400 miles since the engine change with no hickups at all! Runs spot on. Bit of a rattle in the exhaust, but certain thats just swarf from the head that needs clearing. Transfer box is quiet as a mouse and just had the oil replaced. Transfer box was replaced at 80,000 miles. Opened this up during the rebuild and the inside all looked fine and no apparent wear to the bearings. Clutch appeared to have been changed very shortly before the engine failure as you could still see the branding stamped on the clutch plate.
Car has done 130,000 miles but is in very good condition for the age and mileage. Have heaps of reciepts and paperwork running into thousand and thousands! Underside is solid and fully undersealed. Spare can of underseal also included.
Interior is mint! Tiny bit of wear on the drivers seat bolster, but nothing like you would expect on a car of this mileage. Rear seats also have head rests. This RS2000 also has Air Con, which works very well and is ice cold still. Also features front and rear heated screens.
Everything is pretty much standard bar a few little mods.
- Magnex Cat Back
- Decat
- De-Aps system removed
- Full Samco coolant hoses kit
- Smoothed and colour coded rear boot handle
- Key Fobbed alarm with central locking. Drivers side key lock doesn't work properly, but when do you ever use it anyway!?!
There have been 5 previous owners.
Taxed till May.
MOTed till April 2012!

So, now to the price.
Ł2,149ovno
Prices on these seem to be all over the shop from Ł2,000 to Ł5,000! I figure with the rarety of this one, 3k seems to be a pretty fair price given it can be driven away hassle free!
Also have a spare RS2000 4x4 Gearbox I will include in the sale.
Any questions let me know and will get the pictures sorted asap!
And please note - The CD player shown will not be included in the sale. But I will supply a headunit adapter and wiring for an aftermarket unit.

This car looks stunning and ive never seen one it this colour. So is that true that they only made 500 4x4s. How do you know which number yours is. Im just interested in how many were made.
on the rs2000 data base it shows that there where 603 4x4 registered so 500 is incorrect
as long as the oil level in the t-box is kept where its meant to be they are pretty tough.
i used to give mine hell,
there is vidoe of this car on track at ford fair i think it was,
they hold the road very very well,
most people who slate the rs2k 4x4 have never driven or owned them so dont listen too much.
they could do with a little more power but other than that they drive very well,
www.rs2000-16v.com is where these cars get intrest, some serious project builds going on over there, 300bhp + projects.
rs2000 turbos are becoming more and more popular now and its not as expensive as you may think.
