Default ABS and Master Cylinder Kits

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, I have searched...

could anyone please tell me where to get rebuild/refurb kits (seals etc) for both the ABS block and master cylinder assembly for a 3 door, Ford do not list them.

Many thanks for any help, PB

No one does them so you need to buy another master cylinder and block second hand that's working properly

Thanks dojj for the response, a little surprising given how many of these cars are around and how many are being restored - there are places here is Aus who will do replacement seals to a sample, I will get some done and see if anyone on PF is interested, cheers PB

Just wondering how you got on with this? I'm in a similar position and need to get my Master Cylinder rebuilt as well...in a similar part of the world.

For the record, a company called Past Parts can do refurbs/reconditioning of most parts. Needs sending to em and they can re-bore and seal accordingly.

Link here.

Plenty of them mate, but there was a change from about 88/89 when they went with the separate valve block on the other side of the engine bay and some pumps have the gibbons reversed as the v6 models had heat issues where as the dohc ones had the exhaust on the opposite side so didn't need to worry about hot exhaust gasses warming up the pump and fluid

The granddads had them as standard so more likely to get bits

Yeah they were gonna match some seals up to numbers/sizes on my originals, but i rinsed them in petrol to get rid of the sludge then slid the cylinder back together so i remembered how it was. The petrol made the seals swell so its stuck together for now meaning i cant get any numbers or anything

New master cylinder £44+vat to my door from local factors.
