Probably a very stupid question from a newbie.
Somebody asked me if the engine in my Sierra Sapphire LX 1600 (or 1593 as per the V5) is a pinto.
How would I find out. the engine serial is MK18474

Weren't they CVH? Might be wrong

 

it will probably be a pinto but it's easy to tell

the pinto is narrow at the top whereas the cvh is wide at the top with the rocker cover bolts all over the place

strictly the answer to this question [about the pinto] is no there is no such engine it is fords sohc the pinto by ford is a car not a engine

 

its referred to the pinto engine over here in the UK mate.

The Ford Pinto (car) was not for sale here, whereas the Pinto engine was used in several models.

Best way to tell a pinto from a cvh is to look at which side the exhaust manifold is on
