Default Is it simple to install a 1.6 zetec engine into a 1.1 fiesta lx?

Hi guys, I'm wondering if you can help me? Iv got a 95 mk3 1.1 fiesta lx and a 94 escort mistral cabriolet, which has the same engine as a fiesta Si, I was first of all wondering if this is a simple conversion, putting the 1600 zetec in the fiesta, and maybe keeping the 1.1 gearbox? I need to know if the escort driveshafts, power steering ect will swop straight over? And anything that I might need to get to make it work, also will the fiesta engine mounts marry up to the zetec or do I use the escort mounts, let me know of any probs I might face in this conversion, many thanks, Carl

Yes and better news the 2L Zetec is more a less a straight fit IIRC it just needs some engine mount fabrication, that it just the engine itself though, you then have the electrical side etc to do, I speak for a MK2 here but a MK3 may be similar, don't see why not seem as they are the same engines.

Kool, so do you know if my original mounts can be used or if I can use the escort mounts? + will the drive shafts on the escort fit the fiesta? Cheers for your reply

Mondeo MK1/2. But you'll need the GFJ Zetec engine mount, 1.8 oil sump, alternator, manifold etc.

I won't go with a 2.0 just yet, As the insurence would bend me over and rape me, I want to turn my petrol blue fiesta 1.1 lx into a fiesta Si with the 1600 zetec out of my escort cabbie, i may put a turbo'd 2.0 zetec in it in the future but want to use the engine and everything else I can use from the escort and swop them over to the fiesta, just need to know what exactly I can use, what I can't and what I need and finally what probs I might come across
