Default focus rs gearbox, what shafts can i use?

i'm fitting a focus rs box into my mk2 fiesta and i thought all mtx shafts would be the same, apparently not as i got some out of a focus on a y plate and the splines are too small for the diff.
i don't really want to get FRS shafts as these go for silly money and i'll only use them for the inner cv's and intermediate shaft as i'll need those parts for custom shafts being made or sleeved ones.
any help appreciated.

What engine was in the focus you got the shafts from?

The 2.0 petrol ones and the diesel ones should fit, the smaller petrol engines used the IB5.

The RS shafts are longer too which might make fitting them tricky as they're going into a Fiesta.

sorry, imeant to say a mk1 rs.
i may have ended up with less than 2.0 ones possibly then.
not worried about length as i'll keep the intermediate shaft and inner joints, but will need customlength shafts sorting, either sleeve them with some xr2 ones i have or just get complete units made to size.

That's what I meant too, they are a bit longer and IIRC thicker as well but as you say you need them modifying anyway so the length doesn't matter too much.

There is a company that will custom make shafts from scratch for around Ł200 a side so if you get stuck let me know and I'll get their details.
