3dr Sierra RS Cosworth Service
Hi
Im thinking about serving the motor myself and just wondered what parts I would need for a 40k or general service. Can anyone list the parts I would need and the codes. Also wheres the best place to get these parts.
Oil & filter change, plugs gearbox & diff oils etc.
Cheers guys

With one in the condition that yours is in (i presume it has fsh) i'd have thought that you'd want to keep the history going i.e keeping your service book stamped up, i would take it to a repitable rs dealer and get them to do it and get a proper stamp in your book.
Yeah I do need to take it to get a stamp in the book, but I like to know what needs to be done before and if I can get parts before hand might save me some pennys.
I want to make sure they use the right stuff and I dont get rippped off with cheap oils etc.
Any idea wheres a good place?
Emma's enjoying her job, shame shes doesnt work for ford tho
I saw a black RS500 in PF mag for 15.5k?

It depends on what needs doing, i mean definately oil, filter, plugs, maybe airfilter. The best thing to do is find where you are going to take it and then tell them what you want to do and that you want to source your own bits, problem being is that you dont know what other things need doing, i.e you might or might not need new brake pads but you wont know until its been looked at. Also if you're having it done somewhere then normally they make money on the parts so might not let you do it. I'd ring round a few places m8 but only go to RS specialists, i wouldn't advise taking it to just any ford dealers, believe me i've had my car at a ford dealers before and they're not the sharpest tools in the box if you know what i mean
Maybe some where like brooklyn fords, that sort of place
If you need any bits let me know as i work for fords and get bits cheap, especially plugs, i just payed £4.66 each for 4 cosworth platinum ones
Yeah saw that 500 for sale, bit over priced to be honest

just take it to the Local Ford/RS dealer, its the best solution. they know ewerything there is to know about servicing. just check you get 10W/60 or 20/50 or somerhing like that for oils. dont try to save money in wrong place. use Ford/motorcraft original parts, not replacement parts.
I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!

deffinatly take it to a specialist! i wouldn't even trust a ford rs dealer, if the one in leicester is anything to go by i wouldn't trust em with a bog standard KA!
some places don't even rip you off that much on parts, i just had a cambelt change done on mine at GGR and it worked out about 8 quid dearer for them to get the parts than if i supplied them and i was getting them at trade price!
