Hi,
My friends got a fiesta turbo and for around a week now its been running terrible, from start-up/idle the revs are fluctuating and its generally just coughing and spluttering,like its about to cut-out, when you drive it 1st/2nd/3rd gear are all the same but 4th/5th it seems to clear itself and runs fine.
Anybody had similar issues and ideas on how to rectify it?

Is it chipped? If it is with the ignition off remove the chip and clean the contacts on both the chip and the ecu with a non abrasive contact cleaner (aerosol electrical contact cleaner on a clean cloth). Make sure it's completely dried out and refit.

 

you need to clean the icv idle control valve its on the leftside of the inlet as you look at the engine give a good soak with carb cleaner then with some wd40

Im pretty sure its not chipped, its does have, air filter,exhaust, intercooler fitted!
Is there anything else to check over another friend suggested air leaks?
