i guess not, you may as well keep hold of it if its financially possible.

I cant see myself getting rid of mine, too much gone into it so it will be staying.

out of interest how does yours handle with the zt (how much was it running?)

cheers

The problem is, with a higher spec car, you'll want more money for it, and a lot of people only want to buy them cheap. Or they'll fork out for standard-ish cars and do the modifications themselves.

Selling any type of heavily modified car will always be difficult.

If you've any chance selling an RST spare a thought for us with orions! worth less than scrap value by all respects!

Performance cars aren't selling full stop at the moment imo.

when you can buy an E46 M3 for upwards Ł7200, who in their right mind would spend good money on any S2?

Plenty of people.

A lot of people buy cars for more than just their technical ability. After all, if that were the case; everyone would buy Evos instead of Cossies!

i think the whole car market is suffering at the moment, insurance at an all time high, fuel cost is the highest it's ever been.
i can't even sell a seat ibiza gti with t&t for a little over Ł500, very tough IMO.

just keep ityring someone who wants a genuine decent rst will buy it eventually as people are saying everyone is struggling but itll sell,
dont break it but maybe you could downgrade engine to standard cvh turbo and sell engine and car separate

Ł7200 For starters will get you a dog of an m3, along with high insurance costs and high maintainance costs. I can insure my s2 for under Ł200 a year and chance the oil and filter for around Ł40 like to see you do both of those on an e46 m3 for that. Hence when it sits in the garage for half the year it costs sod all.

I couldn't take my car to your level, I'd be too worried about chips on paintwork etc.

plus it would take me even longer to complete.

Mine's sat on the drive at my parents house and I've had 6 people knock on the door asking if it's for sale, and 3 people leave notes on it asking me to ring them and tell them how much it's for sale for. Now with no tax or mot, and probably needing 4 new tyres it's not going to fetch a lot, but it's not for sale

Don't panic tho, It will be at my house next week tucked up in the garage

I think one element is insurance, it's an old car, easy to break into so it needs heafty security, easy to mod, lad at work is 20 and he can't insure a standard one for less then 2k, I paid Ł1200 in 2001 at 21 years 0f age fully comp with 9 points.

I saw yours up for sale and tbh if i was looking your would be first on my list but it needs to be mapped.
If you had it mapped with a proven figure and nice running i think you would easily get 4k for it- If i had the money i'd pay that all day long for teh spec of your car
